Siida Game Jam

For the first time ever, a game jam event, SIIDA GAME JAM, will be held at the Sámi Museum Siida. The three-day event, taking place from September 3–5, 2026, brings together creative professionals, students, and hobbyists.

A game jam is an internationally recognized event format where participants design and create a game or game concept within a set timeframe.

Siida Game Jam starts on Thursday, September 3rd at 1:00 PM. Game creation begins on September 3rd at 3:00 PM and ends on September 5th at 3:00 PM. The return bus to Rovaniemi departs on September 6th at 8:00 AM.

During the event, the museum will remain open to regular visitors as usual, creating a unique space for interaction between the developers and the public.

The game development process will be guided by a theme announced at the event, as well as the Sámi Museum Siida itself, which serves as the setting for the games. The museum features the ”Digital Natives? Sámi Games Now!” exhibition until September 20, 2026, which includes works originating from the Saami Game Jam held in Utsjoki in 2018. SIIDA GAME JAM acts as a side event to the exhibition, and the games created here could be featured in future game exhibitions.

On-site, the game development teams will be guided by five experienced mentors.
